If you’ve ever wanted to see how Boeing builds airplanes, then a visit to Boeing Future of Flight Aviation Center in Everett WA is for you. Its rooftop viewing platform offers an excellent view of Paine Field, where airplanes are manufactured and undergo flight testing. Although Boeing doesn’t actually own the airport, it leases the runway from the county. As such, it is not a good idea to bring electronic devices on this tour.

The Boeing Future of Flight Aviation Center is open every day of the year, except on New Year’s Eve and Christmas Day. The museum also operates on most national holidays, but is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve. Despite the closed season, the museum’s daily “Future of Flight” tours are worth a visit, even for non-aviation buffs. Also worth a visit is the Museum of Flight in Seattle, which showcases the company’s aircraft.

Located about 25 miles north of downtown Seattle, Boeing Future of Flight Aviation Center is home to the only public tour of a commercial jet assembly plant in North America. Though it’s technically located in the city of Mukilteo, the facility is also home to a 28,000-square-foot Aviation Center Gallery. Tour tickets are sold at kiosks and sell out quickly, especially during summertime, so plan ahead and buy your tickets in advance.

While the museum offers a tour of the Boeing airplane assembly facility, it’s worth going to the Museum of Flight’s Restoration Center. It houses about thirty aircraft in varying states of restoration. The museum is an aviation enthusiast’s dream, and the family-friendly exhibits make it an ideal place to take young children. Another highlight of the Future of Flight Everett factory is the sky deck. From this location, you can admire the North Cascades, Paine Field, and the Boeing Everett factory from above. You can also get a front-row seat to daily flight operations and watch the Dreamlifter, the Boeing-built aircraft. It is worth spending some time to see these incredible aircraft up close and personal.

While the Boeing Factory Tour isn’t free, you can visit the Sky Deck and Gallery to learn more about Boeing. Children six and up are free to explore the Sky Deck.
